The Declaration of Independence and the Liberty and Security It Afford in Its Affirmation of Absolute Truth

We will not break, we will not yield, we will never give in, we will never give up, we will never, ever, ever back down. As long as we are confident and united, the tyrants we are fighting do not stand a chance, Because we are Americans and Americans kneel to God, and God alone.
Donald J. Trump, July 23, 2022

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of American Independence on July 4, 2026, it is hereby ordered…to provide a grand celebration worthy of the momentous occasion of the 250th anniversary of American Independence on July 4, 2026. It is also the purpose of this order to take other actions to honor the history of our great Nation.

Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of Children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise Institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouragd by the Government. During the first five months of the latter half of 1926, the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hosted the Sesquicentennial Exposition, a world’s fair held for the express purpose of commemorating the 150th birthday of the United States of America and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It also commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Centennial Exposition, which, like its  successor 50 years later, had been a months-long world’s fair, this one celebrating America’s 100th birthday. This image depicts opening day ceremonies of the Centennial Exposition, which were held on Wednesday, May 10, 1876. The image directly below is the logo of the Sesquicentennial Exposition.

Why Philadelphia? Philadelphia is the city, and Philadelphia’s Independence Hall the place, where the Second Continental Congress debated, and on July 2, 1776, approved, Virginia delegate Richard Henry Lee’s resolution to sever all ties to Great Britain. Philadelphia is where, two days later, on Thursday, July 4, the Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence,…
