Thursday, June 6, 2024 is the 80th anniversary of D-Day. CBN News offers the following report on the upcoming commemoration and events leading up to it.

Forty years ago, on June 6, 1984, President Ronald Reagan delivered two speeches at the ceremonies at Normandy commemorating the 40th anniversary of D-Day.

First, Reagan spoke at Omaha Beach.

Later in the day, he spoke at Pointe du Hoc, which is situated east of Utah Beach and four miles east of the middle of Omaha Beach. During the invasion, securing Pointe du Hoc was essential. Allied forces had to scale a cliff more than 100 feet high in the face of German assaults against them.
